Replacing a popped-cap motherboard on an OptiPlex SX270 while software installs on another SX270 (I had to replace the second one’s hard drive). The leakage on these capacitors is unlike any I’ve seen before, and I’ve seen a lot of leaky capacitors since the 270 series came out. There’s a significant amount of leakage, and the fluid appears to be burned almost black (it’s usually whitish or at most light brown). Times like this, I wish I had a decent camera for getting close-ups of the caps.

How on Earth did I manage to misplace the screws?
